New Pictures of Elijah Jacob

The reason I brought the laptop computer to the hospital was so that I could post some pictures of our new baby right away. I also knew that once I got home it would probably be a while before I got the chance to post again. Elijah, or "Baby Jacob" as Aidan calls him, is 10 days old today.
He is getting much bigger and his scrawny little limbs are starting to fill out. He wakes up for 1 1/2 - 2 hours at a time and is learning to sleep at night.... learning is the key word. Abby loves to hold him for long periods of time (1/2 hour is really long for a 6 year old), and while she holds him she "sings" to him. The words don't make sense and she is off key, but it is sweet that she wants to sing to him. Aidan has mixed feelings about his little brother. Most of the time he kisses him and is soft with him, but the other day he came to me and said, "I don't like baby Jacob. Can you put him down and hug me?" What can I say... I'm a sucker. I told him, "we all love baby Eli, but I will put him down and give you a hug too."
Spencer is doing well too. He is on paternity leave from work. He gets 10 days off... you have to love the military. He just told me that he is now officially board of our movie selection. It is nice to hand the baby off to him, and he even helped Abby off to school today.
My mom was here for a week, and it was WONDERFUL to have her here. She helped out tremendously, and I think she even liked to hold the baby =). She went back home yesterday and both of my kids are very sad. I am glad she will be back down here in about a month for the baby blessing.
I was able to take some pictures on Tuesday. They are mainly for announcements, but I will post a few here. We are all in love with our newest addition.

Welcom Baby Elijah!!!

Spencer and I checked into the hospital on Monday morning at 7:30 AM. I was hooked up and ready to go by 8:30, and Elijah Jacob Crandall joined our family at 10:47 AM. Elijah Jacob weighed 7 lbs 9 oz and measured 19 1/4 inches long. I am doing well, and our new baby is beautiful. Spencer was amazing in helping me through the delivery. Both Abby and Aidan are very excited to have their new baby brother here to hold and kiss

Happy Birthday Aidan!

Aidan had his 3rd birthday yesterday (April 12th). This was the first year he has looked forward to his birthday, and been excited for it when it arrived. He wanted chocolate milk for breakfast (I also made apple pancakes to go with it), PB&J for lunch with GRAPES... he was very persistant about the grapes, and he didn't get a choice for dinner because it was also Easter. Aidan does like ham, potatoes, rolls and fruit though. For dessert he picked out a Dinosaur cake pan and chocolate cake. When it came time to choose the icecream he picked....drum roll please... chocolate. He sure takes after his mother and father. The day was filled up so much with birthday celebrations that we didn't even do Easter eggs. We will be doing an Easter lesson and Easter eggs for Family Home Evening tonight.

Happy 3rd Birthday Aidan!!! Love Mom, Dad, and Abby.
